John Edward Ames

JOHN EDWARD AMES

This website is now being gradually updated as of June 2014.  Dozens of new titles have been added.

John Edward Ames (who has also written 31 books as Judd Cole including the popular Cheyenne series) lives in New Orleans and has been a fulltime writer since 1986, when he sold his first novel, The Force.  Since quitting his job teaching English composition at the University of New Mexico, he has written 83 published books (including six as a ghostwriter).  He has written one nonfiction book, The Real Deadwood, as John Ames.  He is also a freelance journalist and has appeared in many national and large urban newspapers, including The Christian Science Monitor, as well as dozens of Web sites.  For more information, see Biography and Titles section of this Web site.

More than anybody now writing about that long-ago time and place of the Old West, John Edward Ames most reminds me of my old friend and mentor, Will Henry.  I can truly think of no higher compliment to give either man.”

Terry C. Johnston, author of Winter Rain

What's New?

Work in Progress:

Piccadilly Publishing has begun reprinting all 31 Judd Cole novels as e-books.  Artist Kirby Jonas was commissioned for the Wild Bill covers--check them out, they're excellent.

I'm the victim of a cyber bully.  Among other offenses he is systematically delinking my name from some of my most valued accomplishments.  I have compiled many of these missing links in a section on this website called Mystery of the Missing Links and Missing Links 2.
